Rebecca marked the birth of her twin daughters as a time to renew her motivation and lose the excess weight that had plagued her throughout her life. Tired of achieving limited success with other diets she decided to give our online weight loss programme a shot.
“I have been plump for most of my life. Even though I returned to my pre pregnancy weight shortly after giving birth to the twins I remained depressed about my size and the thought of shopping filled me with dread. Enough was enough
; I decided to do something about my size!”
With a starting weight of 11 stone 9 lbs and a BMI of 28 she succeeded in losing 2 stone 8 lbs in 7 months and she now weighs in at 9 stone 1 lbs. Not only has she achieved a BMI of 22
but Rebecca also fits into a slimline size 10!
"The meal plans were wonderful, I also loved the fact that you could print out your shopping list and the fact that the diet catered for me as an individual!."
Here she describes how her weight made her feel self conscious and unattractive.
“My self confidence was really low. Whenever I went to a work do with my fiancé I always felt like the fattest person there. I felt too big to go shopping which was really depressing as I was restricted to wearing the same style of clothes.”
She admits that losing weight has been a life changing experience; it is like she morphed into a different person since gaining her svelte new physique.
“Now I enjoy life a lot more. I have a much greater interest in shopping; also I don’t feel like going to the gym is such a nightmare anymore. I know people are not laughing at how I wobble and I finally think I am ready to don a bikini when we go on holiday. I just feel so much healthier and happier.”
Rebecca has made subtle changes to her eating pattern since joining the online programme, she has learned of the importance of calorie control which was her downfall before!
“I ate way too much prior to joining. For breakfast I would normally have toast, a sandwich and crisps for lunch and then a large pasta meal accompanied by salad and garlic bread for supper. The portions were huge and I never hesitated in scoffing down a dessert after the meal.
Since joining the plans I eat much less. I have a healthy bowl of cereal for breakfast and a sandwich, baked potato or salad for a lunch with a piece of fruit. I still have pasta for supper but it is now packed with tomatoes and vegetables instead of cream! I also give the garlic bread a miss.”
Rebecca loved the flexibility and delicious recipes
the meal plans offered. She describes her favourite aspects.
“The meal plans were wonderful, I also loved the fact that you could print out your shopping list and the fact that the diet catered for me as an individual. It allowed me to have alcohol while tailoring for my dislike of all seafood.”
She hasn’t achieved this level of success without picking up a trick or 2 along the way.
“If you have a bad day don’t blow the rest of the week and say I’ll start again next week, get back on track the very next day.
Find some exercises - gym classes, walking or swimming for example that you enjoy.
Don’t say you are on a diet; say you have changed your eating habits.
Don’t constantly deny yourself. If you want a piece of chocolate just have it but try to eat a little less of something else to compensate for this indulgence.”
Rebecca’s diet no longer revolves around wondering what her next meal will be; she has come way too far to allow her thoughts get caught up in a food obsession again.
“ Food is no longer the major focus of my day . I do not become fixated on where my next meal is coming from. I am much happier with my figure and this in turn has made me more confident as a person. I am very proud of my achievements and I intend to keep the weight off.”
