Every little girl fantasizes about going to a ball with her Prince Charming, dressing up in a show stopping gown, and let’s not forget, creating an envious buzz amongst all the other girls.
Over the years we learn that Prince Charming is an elusive figure that rarely turns up, but surely every woman should experience what it feels like to don an exquisite dress and go to a ball, looking and feeling amazing. Not so for Lisa, attending a work ball became a daunting experience for her as she couldn’t find a dress that suited her size 20 frame.
“After trying on a couple of dresses I gave it up as a bad job. I came home and cried, and vowed I would never be put in that position again.”
Being discriminated against because of her size whilst shopping spurred Lisa to join the Closer Diet plan. “In one particular shop I was completely ignored, the shop assistant fussed around a young, slim girl who was looking for a prom dress-it made me feel like a nobody.”
Lisa didn’t want her children growing up ashamed of her, or worse still copying her bad habits. “I wanted to set a better example for my children and for them to know what it is like to have a ‘yummy mummy’ rather than a ‘tubby mummy’.”
Since registering for the Closer Diet plan Lisa has lost 3 stone and reduced her dress size from a size 20 to a curvy size 14. She admits that she is delighted with the results.
“My arms and legs are beautifully toned. I have lots more confidence and no longer shy away from the camera-I have had my photo taken more times in the past couple of weeks than the last 5 years put together.”
Losing weight had given Lisa a ‘new lease of life’ and everyone close to her has noticed the amazing difference trimming down has made to her. “My sister in law commented that I’d gotten my sparkle back!”
Lisa really enjoyed following the online diet plans but her favourite aspect of the online eating programme was the tremendous support resources it offered her.
“The meal plans were a great help to kick start me into action. The main key to my success however has been the support groups. They’ve kept me going through thick and thin. Knowing that you’re not alone and that there are other people just like you following the programme makes a BIG difference.”
Revamping her diet habits has also motivated Lisa to up her activity levels. “I try to get to the gym at least once if not twice per week. When I started I used to burn off 250 calories per session-this has since doubled to over 500!”
Although Lisa is not quite at her goal weight yet she is absolutely certain that she can achieve her target because of the help and support she is receiving from other members of the Closer diet plan. “I am determined not to go back to where I was before and with the support of all my lovely friends on Closer I know I can do it!”
Since registering for the plans Lisa has ditched a few bad habits, here she tells us about one of her worst offenders.
“I’d often skip breakfast and lunch because I was ‘too busy’ which meant that by the time I did sit down to eat I was ravenous and would usually have something naughty because I needed a sugar fix or something convenience and quick.”
Lisa has some very wise words for any other would-be-dieters out there. “Make sure you set yourself realistic goals, otherwise you are setting yourself to fail. When I started this diet I told myself that I was not in a race.”
