Hayley loses her babyweight
Having a new baby is a brilliant experience, but it can mean that you have less time to prepare healthy meals. Hayley knew her weight gain had gotten out of control and she was beginning to feel self-conscious and depressed about it. She reached breaking point when the energy she had for playing with her son ran out. Hayley registered for the Gi diet plan and lost a whopping 2 stone 4lbs in under 6 months.
Hayley tells us her story…
What made you decide to join us?
My son was 6 months old and I thought, I don’t want all of my new mommy friends to only think of me as being bigger. I wanted them to see the real me, the slimmer me. I also wanted to do it for myself!
Was your weight causing you any problems?
Yes, I couldn’t fit into any of my pre-pregnancy clothes, my ankles hurt and so did my back. I was finding it difficult to play with my son and manouevre myself to change his nappy. I felt very miserable and fed up and I just wanted to get back to the old me.
Tell us about your diet before you joined us?
What can I say? I was eating so much. I had very large portions of food, a few bags of crisps, then at night I would eat chocolate and biscuits. I comfort-ate because I was fed up which was a really vicious circle. Now I follow a balanced diet. I don’t eat after 7pm, limit my snacks and I try to do extra exercise before going out for a large meal.
What difference has losing weight made to you?
It has been life-changing. All my friends and family give me so much support and spur me on when they see that I have dropped another dress size. I now have a spring back in my step and it’s great. Now that my son is eating 3 meals a day, he is also eating similar food to us.
Did exercise play any part in your weight loss?
Exercise has played a huge part in my weight loss, I could not have done it without the exercise. I started by doing short jogs and fast walks and pushed myself a little further each time. Now I have built up to 7km jogs and do an aerobics class once a week and a body combat class once a week. It's huge fun and I thoroughly enjoy it and it's a great way to make new friends. I also take my son for a walk most mornings.
What did you think of the service overall?
The recipes are brilliant, they are quick and easy. It's also great to have a shopping list to print off as it stops me from buying unhealthy items. I also like the way that my weigh-in comments are always answered with a personalised reply.
How have your family and friends reacted to your weight loss?
My friends and family have been amazing. Some of them have been lucky enough to sample my cooking and they can’t believe it is diet food. As my husband has been eating the same meals as me, he has also managed to drop a clothes size.
Have you any other information you would like to give?
Weight loss is not easy or else everyone would be thin. Exercise as much as possible and you will achieve results. Anyone can do it no matter how much weight needs to be lost. Stay focused and remember if you think you can do it, you can!
